Nigerian singer, Omah Lay's single 'Soso' has been certified platinum in France by SNEP, the official certifying organization.
This accomplishment comes after 'Soso' reached 30 million streams in France.
The smash single, which appeared on his debut album 'Boy Alone', charted in various countries and achieved tremendous success. The tune achieved digital success, with 186 million Spotify streams and 142 million YouTube views.
The award-winning sensation released the remix starring Ozuna on the deluxe version of his debut album, which has received over 20 million Spotify streams.
'Soso,' produced by Tempoe, is Omah Lay's most commercial record yet, adding to his collection of hit tracks that include 'Damn,' 'Understand,' 'Reason,' and 'Godly,' which is one of the longest No. 1 songs on the Turntable Top 100, lasting 11 weeks.
With 'Soso' awarded platinum in France, it joins the ranks of Afrobeats records that have received SNEP platinum certification.
It also demonstrates the growing popularity of Afrobeats in France, where Boy's 'On The Low' and 'Last Last', Ayra Starr's 'Rush', Oxlade's 'Kulosa', CKay's 'Love Nwantiti', and Rema's 'Calm Down' have all received diamond certification.
