Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Stanley Omah Didia, known popularly as Omah Lay stated that if Nigeria's Super Eagles win the 2023 African Cup of Nations, or AFCON, the world will shake.
The artist claimed this during a conversation with West Ham defender Kurt Zouma, which was recorded and released on the club's social media website on Saturday.
Omah Lay said, “It [Nigeria’s run at the AFCON] is amazing. You can see how wild the people are going and you can see how everybody is jumping around. It’s amazing to see.
“I’m hopeful that this is going to be the year for us. The world is going to shake! The world will shake. Live on the road doesn’t give me time to be in the football vibes as much. But I know for sure that if we win this [AFCON] it’s going to be very huge.”
However, there is currently a scarcity of tickets for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final between Nigeria and Ivory Coast.
Fans are finding it hard to get tickets ahead of Sunday’s big clash.
This was revealed by Ovie Ofugara, the CEO of the music website, NotJustOk, in a tweet on Saturday.
Ovie wrote, “#AFCON2023 final tickets are more scarce than Bigfoot right now. Almost easier to catch a solar eclipse.
“CAF and the Ivorian organizing committee bungled this one.
“The only blemish on what has been an otherwise excellent tournament,”
The Super Eagles will take on the hosts Cote D’Ivoire in the final on Sunday 11, February 2024.
