OGUN, Nigeria - The Speaker of the Ogun House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, praised Aliko Dangote, the president of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), for his various economic initiatives aimed at supporting Nigerians during an event on Wednesday.
Elemide expressed his admiration at the Dangote Group Special Day held at the 14th Gateway International Trade Fair in Abeokuta.
This event was organized by DIL to acknowledge customer loyalty and to promote further market penetration for its products.
He noted that DIL's contributions in areas such as road construction and rehabilitation, fertilizer production, taxation, and petroleum have significantly aided both state and federal governments.
However, he urged the DIL president to enhance the company’s environmental responsibility, suggesting the construction of more parks for truck accommodation instead of parking on highways.
Tunde Mabogunje, the regional sales director for Lagos and Ogun at Dangote Industries, mentioned that the business mogul has started exporting products from the petroleum refinery to various parts of the world.
He stated, “Dangote's exports, including fertilizers, have improved the distribution system and enhanced Nigeria’s status as an exporting nation.”
Ola Aikulola, the permanent secretary of the Ogun state ministry of industry, trade, and investment, also expressed appreciation for Dangote's efforts. He commended the mogul for his continuous collaboration with the Ogun Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (OGUNCIMMA) and the state government to foster trade within the region.
