The Ogun Police Command has issued a wanted notice for Habeeb Olalomi, commonly known as “Portable,” for allegedly attacking officials from the state government who are part of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
This announcement comes just two weeks after he reportedly assaulted three government staff members who were inspecting his project in Ota.
According to the law enforcement agency, during the violent incident involving the three workers—Onabanjo Abidemi, Raymond Lateef, and Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—Portable and nine other accomplices were armed with guns and various weapons. While the other nine have been captured, Portable managed to escape the scene and is currently in hiding to avoid being arrested.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun Command, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the situation in a statement released to the press on Monday.
She explained that on February 5, 2025, around 10:00 AM, officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office, were conducting an enforcement action at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they interacted with an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar.
Upon identifying themselves and asking for the approved building plan, the father indicated that his son was not available. However, shortly after, Portable appeared, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, leading a group of nine thugs to violently attack the unarmed officials.
The enforcement officers suffered various injuries but were able to escape and subsequently reported the incident to the Ota Area Command, which then escalated the matter to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action.
While nine accomplices were arrested, Portable fled the scene and has been evading capture since then. Multiple formal invitations were sent to him, urging his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, all of which he has ignored without any valid reason or legal representation.
Due to his continued avoidance, the Ogun State Police Command has obtained a legitimate court order declaring him wanted.
The public is urged to assist the police by providing any information that could lead to his swift arrest.
Anyone found to be aiding or sheltering the suspect will face legal repercussions.
For any relevant information, please report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels or police public relations department.
