The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, will be meeting with business leaders on Tuesday to seek their collaboration to boost the state’s economy.
According to a release issued on Sunday by the state’s Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr Adebola Sofela, Abiodun would meet with the business leaders before declaring open the 13th Gateway International Trade Fair at the M.K.O. Abiola Trade Fair Complex in Abeokuta.
Abiodun will meet with Chief Executive Officers and captains of industry in Ibara, Abeokuta on Tuesday, before officially declaring the trade fair.
He stated that the governor’s meeting with the CEOs was to further seek areas of collaboration as strategic partners and express the state’s appreciation to them for their efforts so far on the 2024 Trade Fair.
Sofela hinted that the meeting, which would be a prelude to the official opening of the trade fair, would provide an avenue to keep the industrialists abreast of government policies and programmes.
He added that the state would continue to put all machinery in motion to provide an enabling environment for business to thrive.
The commissioner urged members of the public to take full advantage of the free transportation and the opportunity of winning the grand prize of the two-bedroom bungalow to participate in this year’s edition of the fair.
He said, “The state government in collaboration with Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, has put together the biggest Gateway International Trade Fair with so many attractions which the members of the public cannot afford to miss.
“There is a wider range of local and international exhibitors this year. There is free transportation to the Trade Fair Complex from different locations in Abeokuta. An Entertainment Village is also available for visitors at the Trade Fair to have a memorable time while there is a sickbay as well as a medical outreach program where medical tests would be carried out,” the commissioner noted.
