Obasanjo Reveals The Only Nigeria Pastor That Will Make Heaven

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo said he believes only one Nigeria pastor will make heaven.

Obasanjo said he believes the late Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr Sunday Mbang, CON, is the only pastor in Nigeria he is sure will make heaven. Obasanjo made the statement at the funeral service of the late Mbang in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Friday. He said that Mbang was a forthright and honest man who always spoke the truth, even when it was not convenient to do so. Obasanjo said that he consulted with Mbang shortly after his release from prison in 1998 when he was considering running for president of Nigeria. He said that Mbang's advice was invaluable to him and that he gained a lot from their discussions. Obasanjo also said that Mbang was a man who was always willing to help others. He said that when Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State wanted to seek Mbang's opinion on a matter, he would often visit Akwa Ibom State under the pretext of wanting to see the governor, but the person he was really going to see was Mbang. Obasanjo concluded by saying that he was deeply saddened by Mbang's death and that he believed that Nigeria had lost a great man. Mbang, who was once President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the first black President of the World Methodist Council, died in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. He was 88 years old.
