KANO- The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps' Kano State Command has deployed 3,542 men to ensure that the state's Christmas and New Year celebrations run smoothly.
The data are contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi.
“Apart from 44 divisional offices, officers and men were drawn from various departments and units of the command including undercover personnel to assist in providing adequate security around Christian worshipping centers across the state, recreational spots, strategic places, etc,” Abdullahi said.
He also stated that operatives have been dispatched to collaborate with sister traffic enforcement authorities to ensure that traffic flows smoothly and freely throughout the festive season.
Abdullahi advised miscreants against committing acts that could disrupt public order, as offenders will be detained and prosecuted.
“As the Corps maintains 24-hour surveillance and protection of critical infrastructure across nooks and crannies in the state, miscreants are strongly warned to shun from causing a breach of the public peace as defaulters will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” Abdullahi added
