The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, and Truck Transit Parks Limited, TTP, are collaborating to enhance port cargo delivery by introducing Electronic tags (E-tags) for easier entry and exit.
The Managing Director of TTP, Mr. Jama Onwubuariri, stated that the new innovation will not cost truckers and will revolutionize port efficiency and security.
This initiative aims to address challenges related to non-compliance with Minimum Standard Procedure (MSP) and improve the ease of doing business for truckers and the maritime sector.
The decision to deploy E-tag technology was endorsed by the Managing Director of NPA during a stakeholders meeting in Lagos.
TTP has committed to bearing the entire financial burden of the project to advance the digital infrastructure of Nigeria’s ports and drive efficiency within the maritime sector.
This project underscores TTP’s dedication to promoting cutting-edge technology and supporting the goals of the NPA and the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Committee (PEBEC).
