Norwich City have sacked manager David Wagner less than 24 hours after their crushing Championship play-off defeat to Leeds United.
The decision comes in the wake of Thursday's 4-0 semi-final second-leg loss, which ensures the Canaries will face a third consecutive season in the second tier.
According to BBC Sport, the club's hierarchy acted swiftly following the heavy defeat.
Arsenal coach Carlos Cuesta has emerged as a potential replacement, given his previous collaboration with Norwich's sporting director, Ben Knapper, during his tenure as loans manager at Arsenal.
Wagner's tenure was precarious after Ben Knapper replaced Stuart Webber in November, yet he managed to guide Norwich to a sixth-place finish in the Championship.
Despite this achievement, the heavy play-off defeat proved to be the final straw for the Canaries' management.
An official club statement is expected later on Friday.
