The governors under the auspices of the North East Governors Forum (NEGF) expressed their regrets in a communiqué after the conclusion of their 10th meeting held in Bauchi, the state capital, on Saturday.

The Governor Forum condemned the “casual attitude” of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in its handling of issues.
According to a communiqué signed by Forum Chairman and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, each state governor will establish a solar power plant capable of generating at least 10 MW per state in the short term to provide electricity to the poor. decided to do so. .
They also called on the federal government to order TCN to redouble its efforts to restore energy supplies in the region.
The communiqué states: “The Forum deplores the power outages experienced in the region last month and the casual attitude taken by TCN in addressing this issue of national importance for the security and development of the country.

The Forum therefore called on the Federal Government to direct TCN to take immediate action. The Forum also reiterated its concerns about the apparent neglect of the Northeast in the allocation of federal capital projects.
