Members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) recently gathered at the landmark National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, for a moving combined night of homage to their late colleagues: John Okafor, well known as Mr Ibu, Amaechi Munagor, and Zulu Adigwe.
The solemn tribute commenced with a melancholy candlelight parade that began at the Masha roundabout in Surulere, Lagos, at 5 p.m. and wound its way gently to the sacred grounds of the National Stadium Surulere.
The atmosphere was charged with reverence as fellow actors including Kenneth Okonkwo, Emeka Rollas, Zack Orji, Desmond Elliot, Victor Osuagwu, and many others, gathered to honor the legacies of their late friends in a gathering that quickly became a social media sensation.
Mr Ibu passed away on March 2, 2024, after battling with ill health for some time. Amaechi Munagor died on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 67, after suffering from protracted kidney-related issues, diabetes, and stroke.
Zulu Adigwe, on the other hand, was laid to rest in Abuja on Wednesday, May 29, following his passing on the evening of Tuesday, April 23.
