Nigeria's film industry is once more in a grieving state with news of Murphy Afolabi's alleged passing.
The well-known Yoruba actor, 49, passed away this morning in his home.
On Sunday afternoon, veteran producer and director of motion pictures Tunde Ola-Yusuf announced the death on his Facebook page.
“Rest in peace. May God grant the family and close friends the strength to bear the loss," he said.
Exactly one week ago today, on May 5, the deceased had his birthday.
Under the direction of Dagunro, Murphy launched his career with the film "Ifa Olokun," and he has since appeared in and produced a large number of other films.
