The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has thrown its full support behind the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the ongoing battle against corruption in Nigeria.
NLC President Joe Ajaero on Thursday called on the EFCC to woo Nigerians to aid in the fight corruption in the country.
Ajaero said this in Abuja during the EFCC's 'Walk Against Corruption' held across various states in the country.
In his address, Ajaero underscored the need for anti-corruption campaigns across the states.
He stated: “There’s an urgent need for us to fight corruption, and the NLC will throw its weight behind the agency in all its fights against corruption.”
He advised the EFCC to remain vigilant against misinformation, assuring the anti-graft agency that genuine Nigerians would continue to support its efforts in getting rid of corruption in the country.
Ajaero suggested that the EFCC should connect more with Nigerians to enable a mass movement against corruption.
“Nigerians are united in the fight against corruption; clearly I think what your agency needs to do is to connect with them so that it will be a mass movement,” he stated.
