The Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited and Momas Equipment and Protective Applications International Limited have signed a partnership on Saturday to enhance communication infrastructure in the Nigerian defence sector.
This partnership aims to improve national security by facilitating effective communication and building a robust database for data collection.
During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, Mrs Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, emphasized the importance of collaborating with indigenous companies like Momas-EPAIL to strengthen the country's defence sector.
The event, which took place at the company’s factory in Mowe, Ogun State, was attended by officials from both organizations. Egerton-Idehen commended MOMAS-EPAIL for its innovative efforts in enhancing national security and urged other indigenous companies to partner with NIGCOMSAT for an effective server communication network.
She emphasized the company's commitment to serving Nigeria through Nigerians and the importance of protecting, creating value, and embracing innovations in the defence sector.
The partnership between NIGCOMSAT and Momas-EPAIL is expected to bring significant value to the nation.
She mentioned that NIGCOMSAT, a Nigerian satellite communication company, and Momas-EPAIL would contribute significantly to the development of the nation.
In his statement, the Chairman of Momas-EPAIL, Mr. Kola Balogun, expressed that the collaboration with NIGCOMSAT would establish a robust database and enhance data gathering for national security purposes.
Balogun highlighted that the company has acquired substantial knowledge-based information to safeguard the security infrastructure.
He revealed that the company had experienced significant growth in supplying armored vehicles and traditional operational supplies.
Balogun emphasized the importance of collaborating with NIGCOMSAT to improve group communication infrastructure and frontline operations.
He explained that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would facilitate the exchange of security, intelligence, and classified information. "All crucial information will be incorporated into the agreement to safeguard and localize important data for Nigeria's security," he added.
"This will further improve our services and efficiency in delivering to the defense sector," he stated.
EPAIL is a branch of the MOMAS Group of Companies, a Nigerian manufacturing facility that specializes in producing bulletproof vests, ballistic helmets, and other defense-related equipment. MOMAS also manufactures electricity meters locally.
