As the 2024 United Nations’ Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, draws near, the Imo State command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, has freely campaigned against the use of illicit drugs and the need to invest in the prevention of the consequences of drug abuse.
The road work sensitization programme, themed: ‘The Evidence is Clear, Invest in Prevention,’ started at about 8.45 am from the Aba Road headquarters of the command to Douglas Road (Mbaise Road) to Fire Service (Wethedral Road) and at about 11.20 am at Aba road.
Speaking at the road work, the headquarters of the command, and Commander of Narcotics in Aba, Abdullah Saeed, commended the men and officers of the command for the campaign.
He encouraged the officers to work hard to fulfil the mandate for which the agency NDLEA was established.
Saeed said, “You should be good ambassadors of NDLEA and diligently help to drive the message of this campaign to the grassroots.”
The commander, however, thanked the representatives of the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air Force, the Civil Defense, the Organization for Drug Abuse and Violent Free Society, the Road Safety, the Man O’War and the Nigeria Immigration Service, for co-joining them in the campaign.
