In Kano and Abuja, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) agents detained 185 people who were in possession of various amounts of illegal drugs.
This was revealed in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja by Mr. Femi Babafemi, Director of Media and Advocacy for the NDLEA.
According to him, the Sani Abacha Indoor Stadium in Kano's capital city and Zaro dormitory along Burma Road were the targets of raids by agency agents.
He claimed that during the operations, the operators detained 160 people who were in possession of various amounts of illegal drugs.
Additionally, two suspects, Abubakar Sallau (55), and Nazifi Abdullahi (25), were detained on May 13 along the Kano-Maiduguri Road carrying 5,000 pills of Tramadol 200mg, according to Babafemi.
"The pair of Adamu Nagati (30) and Ali Nasiru (35) were found to be in possession of 65,200 Tramadol and Exol-5 tablets in total.
"This occurred at the same time when agents in Abuja detained 25 individuals after operations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) communities of Tora Bora, Gwarinpa village, 3rd Avenue in Gwarinpa, Karamo, Garki market, Sabongari Bwari, and New Kucigoro IDP camp.
"NDLEA agents also foiled an attempt to transport 24kg of Cannabis indica into Lagos.
"On Thursday, May 11, the drugs smuggled in second hand cars from Canada were discovered.
"The medicines were found after a thorough investigation of a container with the marking MSMU 7412069 at the Prime Connection Bonded Terminal off the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.
"In collaboration with men from the Nigeria Customs Service, two clearing agents linked to the container, Chief G.O. Njokwu and Mr. Christopher Obialor, have been arrested."
