The Minister of Niger Delta Development, Abubakar Momoh, has effectively provided medical treatment to more than 3,200 individuals through a Free Medical Health Care Mission outreach programme in Edo State.
The programme, launched on Sunday, May 12, saw many residents seeking consultations, treatments, and surgeries.
A statement issued on Friday, May 17, by special assistant to the minister of Niger Delta Development on media, Osigwe Omo-Ikiordah, said the outreach was a display of commitment to improving healthcare in the Niger Delta region by the NDDC.
The outreach, which will conclude on Saturday, May 18, has already surpassed expectations, with over 720 individuals receiving treatment and free eyeglasses, and 18 successful hernia surgeries
Minister Momoh was pleased with the enthusiastic response and stated that the goal of reaching 5,000 beneficiaries would not only be achieved but exceeded.
He urged the NDDC to extend its reach even further, emphasizing the importance of health as the foundation of wealth and productivity.
The outreach program has been recognized as a significant initiative aimed at improving the quality of life for individuals in the Niger Delta area.
The Vice Chancellor of Edo State University Uzairue, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, commended the NDDC, the Ministry of Niger Delta Development, and President Bola Tinubu's administration for their dedication to enhancing the lives of many in the region.
The event was graced by notable personalities, including the Archbishop of the Catholic Diocese of Auchi, traditional leaders from Edo North, representatives from the Edo State government, and various organizations. T
