According to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, fast and seamless port clearance procedures are required to reach industry best practices.

Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, the agency's Director-General, restated the agency's position in Lagos in a statement issued by the agency's media consultant, Mr. Olusayo Akintola.

Adeyeye revealed this during the 2024 training of priority clients of the Ports Inspection Directorate on the Ports Inspection Data Capture and Risk Management System platform.

According to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, fast and seamless port clearance procedures are required to reach industry best practices.

The NAFDAC chairman, represented by the agency's Director of Ports Inspection Directorate, Dr. Abimbola Adegboye, underlined the need for industry operators to be highly adept in the usage of the Ports Inspection Data platform designed by NAFDAC for ease of doing business.

She stated that training on port clearance procedures for stakeholders and priority clients utilizing the PIDCARMS platform was critical to the operation.

According to Adeyeye, the agency's goal is to provide critical insights and direction on how to use the optimized PIDCARMS for effective and flawless port clearance procedures for valued stakeholders and priority clients.

The DG stated that the agency's participation in the course demonstrated its commitment to remaining current on technical improvements and industry best practices.

She stated that participation in the Priority Client Platform was not automatic and that the operator had to demonstrate dedication to staying above board in order to enjoy the perks of a Priority client, such as 24-hour attention on the platform.

Other benefits she mentioned were self-assessment and costing options, as well as the privilege of customized email access on the PIDCARMS platform to sort out unique business challenges.
