As reported by French news source Foot Mercato, Paris FC, a newly-promoted team in French Ligue 1, has come to an agreement with FC Nantes for the transfer of Nigerian international Moses Simon.
Moses has been a significant target for Paris FC this summer as they aim to bolster their lineup for their first Ligue 1 campaign in 46 years.
The deal for the 29-year-old is believed to be approximately €7 million.
Ouest-France previously indicated that Paris had submitted a bid of around €5 million for the forward, but Foot Mercato mentions that this offer did not meet Nantes’ expectations.
Paris returned with a better offer and seems to have persuaded Les Canaris to release a player who has been a key part of the squad since joining on a permanent basis in 2020.
Simon played a crucial role in helping Nantes avoid relegation and reach consecutive Coupe de France finals in 2022 and 2023.
He contributed to their 2022 cup victory over OGC Nice, securing the club's fourth title. Last season, Simon scored eight goals and provided 10 assists, aiding the club in finishing 13th with 36 points, six above the relegation zone.
Over his time with the Canaries, he has tallied 37 goals and 42 assists in 201 appearances.
Although there were also interests from Rennes, Olympique Marseille, and English Premier League club Everton, it seems that his transfer to Paris FC may be finalized soon.
