The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, has urged Nigerians to support the Armed Forces of Nigeria in combating terrorism and criminal activities even as it vows to protect democracy.
He also pledged to work under president Bola Tinubu to strengthen democracy in the country.
Musa assured Nigerians that victory was in sight against terrorism and other acts of criminality.
This was contained in a statement issued by the acting Director, Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau, on Thursday.
The statement read: “Gen. Musa also appealed to all Nigerians to remain positive towards the challenges being faced and to support the AFN in the fight against all acts of terrorism and criminality.
“He assured them that victory is in sight. against terrorism and criminity.
“Gen. Musa reaffirms the unwavering commitment and loyalty of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the President, Commander-in-Chief.
“Accordingly, the AFN remains dedicated to supporting and strengthening democracy for the benefit of all Nigerians, as we shall continue to collaborate with national and sub-national institutions to entrench constitutional governance,” the statement read.
Musa commended the sacrifice of troops across the country, urging them to uphold the tenet of democracy.
