The Medical Art Centre, Ikeja, Lagos State, has received ISO 9001:2015 certification from IEMA Standards Limited.
Speaking on Wednesday during a press briefing, the centre’s Chairman and Chief Medical Director, Prof. Oladipo Ashiru, stated that the ISO 9001:2015 certification reflected the centre’s commitment to excellence.
He added that the laboratory protocols strictly adhered to the standards of the American Board of Bioanalysis and the Association of Fertility and Reproductive Health guidelines, in alignment with international benchmarks.
Ashiru stressed that operating according to global standards would keep the organisation at the forefront.
“Our pursuit of excellence has never wavered, leading us to undertake the demanding process of ISO certification. This achievement is the perfect addition to our 30-year legacy of quality, dedication, and passionate service to the field of Assisted Reproductive Technology.
“Today, we proudly announce our ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) Certification from IEMA Standards Ltd. This accomplishment highlights our unwavering commitment to upholding the highest quality standards. We invite the public to continue placing their trust in us, as we remain dedicated to excellence in every aspect of our practice.”
He added that over the past 30 years, the centre had welcomed more than 3,000 babies into the world, bringing joy to countless families in Nigeria, neighbouring West African countries, the Americas, and Europe.
While presenting the certificate to Ashiru, the Director-General of IEMA Standards Limited, Dr Raymond Smith, explained the rigorous evaluation process undertaken to ensure the centre met international standards.
He said, “It is a significant achievement, and we subjected the organisation to a thorough process over several months to confirm it aligns with global standards. IEMA is accredited by the Egyptian Accreditation Council and recognised by the International Accreditation Forum, the highest accreditation body.
“We are pleased with the cooperation of the Medical Art Centre team. However, maintaining the standard is crucial, and we will conduct annual surveillance to ensure compliance. The centre has successfully met these requirements, and its procedures now adhere to international standards.”
