Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg was seen training with UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski on Tuesday.
Mark's picture with the UFC Champions has intensified speculation surrounding the potential Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) bout between Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Elon Musk.
The notion of an MMA showdown between these tech giants originated as online banter a few weeks ago. However, tension has been escalating between the two since Zuckerberg launched his Twitter-like app, Threads, on July 5, 2023. Threads has already amassed over 100 million users worldwide.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, believes that Threads was developed through questionable means. In response to a tweet reporting that Twitter was considering legal action against Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, for alleged cheating with the Threads app, Musk tweeted, "Competition is fine, cheating is not."
As the arguments regarding the new app intensified online, the two influential figures revived their banter challenge for a cage fight. Although some initially perceived it as playful banter, the anticipation surrounding this improbable showdown continues to grow, especially as both Zuckerberg and Musk have been pictured training with MMA fighters.
Mark Zuckerberg responded to the image of his training with UFC champions Adesanya and Volkanovski by expressing his honour at training with them. Adesanya, who shared photos of the training session, emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, "No Fugazi with Mark.
This is Serious Business." UFC featherweight champion Volkanovski also chimed in, acknowledging Zuckerberg's skills and stating, "@zuck you're a beast! Always great to catch up."
Notably, Musk has also been seen engaging in training sessions, having been spotted with UFC legend Georges St-Pierre on July 3, 2023.
