At the age of 70, Gordon McQueen, a former center-back for Manchester United, Leeds, and Scotland, passed away.
McQueen was a member of the 1974 English First Division Champion Whites squad and also played a significant role in the Red Devils' 1983 FA Cup success.
Before receiving his diagnosis in January 2021, his family conjectured that he was afraid of developing vascular dementia, which may have been triggered by often heading a ball. Sportscaster Hayley McQueen, his father's daughter, swiftly shared the information on Instagram.
"I'm so sad to report that we lost our loving dad," she stated. "I had anticipated that when the time came, I would be prepared and feel happy that he was no longer fighting this dreadful disease, but instead, I just feel numb."
