The team did marvelously even without their key playmaker, Kevin Bruyne who is currently out for two months due to injury. Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, was pleased with his team's performance and claimed they were eager to achieve further victory.
“I’m very proud of the team, they showed great character and quality against a very tough opponent. We knew Sevilla would be a big challenge, especially with their home support, but we handled it very well and scored some great goals. We are very happy to win this trophy, but we are not satisfied yet. We want to win more trophies and make history for Manchester City.”
Sevilla's head coach, Tony Gustavsson, sent his congratulations to Manchester City after the match and admitted that his squad had battled well but ultimately lost to a stronger opponent.
“I want to thank my players for their effort and commitment throughout this tournament. They have done themselves and their country proud. They fought hard until the end, but we have to admit that Manchester City were too good for us today. They deserved to win and we wish them all the best for the future.”
Manchester City will now concentrate on their domestic season, in which they hope to win their fourth straight Premier League championship. On Saturday, they will host Newcastle United. Sevilla will also get back to league play, where they will attempt to once again fight for the La Liga championship. On Monday, they will travel to face Deportivo Alaves. Bono, Sevilla's goalkeeper, on the other hand, will be joining Saudi Arabian club side, Al Hilal soon.

Who has won the UEFA Super Cup most?

Barcelona, AC Milan, and Real Madrid have all won the UEFA Super Cup trophy five times each, and Liverpool has won it four times, making them the most successful teams in the competition's history. After Real Madrid's four titles, Atletico Madrid has won the UEFA Super Cup three times, followed by Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Ajax, Anderlecht, Valencia, and Juventus with two titles each. Several other teams, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Sevilla, Dynamo Kyiv, and Aston Villa, have won the title at least once. However, Barcelona has made the most appearances, with four runner-up finishes out of nine total attempts.
