Manchester City Seal €60M Move For Belgian Star Jeremy Doku

POSTED ON August 22, 2023 •   Football      BY Lawrence Omoge •   VIEWS 102
Manchester City have completed the signing of Jeremy Doku from Rennes for a total fee of €60m, with €45m being paid up front and the rest in add-ons. The 21-year-old winger has agreed a five-year contract with the Premier League champions and will wear the number 11 shirt. Doku is one of the most exciting young talents in Europe and has already scored twice in his first two games for Rennes this season. He also impressed for Belgium at Euro 2020, where he featured in four matches. Before being signed by Pep's side, Doku was rumoured to be signed by Liverpool; however, it was Manchester City who had the upper hand this time. Another blow to Jorgen's side.

Jeremy Doku's Career So Far

Jeremy Doku is a professional football player for Rennes and the Belgium national team. He joined Rennes in 2020 and has been a crucial member of the team, helping them reach the final of the Coupe de France in the 2020/21 season. He has also been a regular for the Belgium national team, making his debut in 2020.

Doku: Manchester City's Key Gain

The club have been keen to add Doku to their squad as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez, who left for Al-Ahli earlier this summer. The club is looking to scare rivals by adding more strength to its squad after winning the Premier League title and reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League last season. Doku's arrival will be a significant boost to the club's attack, which has already scored 11 goals in the first three games of the season. Jeremy Doku is the latest addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad as Manchester City look to defend their domestic and European titles this season. The Belgian winger has shown great potential and flair on the pitch, but he will also face competition and pressure at his new club. He has expressed his delight and gratitude to join City and his eagerness to learn from Guardiola and his teammates. How do you think Doku will fit in at Manchester City? Do you think he is worth €60m? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
