Man assaults 60-year-old woman with her own cane in NYC subway In a horrifying incident at a Harlem subway station, a man brutally attacked a 60-year-old woman, striking her over 50 times with her own cane. The shocking assault occurred on Friday, September 1, just before 3:30 a.m. at the West 116 Street and Lenox Avenue station, as reported by NYPD officials. The disturbing video footage reveals the assailant, who remains unidentified, lunging at the woman with an umbrella while she attempted to defend herself with her cane. In a cruel turn of events, the suspect managed to wrestle the cane from the woman's grasp, causing her to fall to the ground in distress. Once in possession of the cane, the assailant launched a savage attack on the defenseless woman, striking her relentlessly in the head, stomach, leg, arms, back, and hands with such force that the wooden cane shattered. With the cane now reduced to fragments, the victim, lying on her back, somehow managed to reclaim what remained of her weapon. In a horrifying escalation, the attacker began to pummel her head repeatedly with his fists. The video captures the assailant's continued assault, during which he verbally berated the shocked woman. Notably, as the attack unfolded, the man's pants began to sag, exposing his posterior. The victim lay motionless on the ground for several seconds before the assailant subjected her to several more kicks, at which point the video abruptly cuts off. According to an update from the NYPD, the 60-year-old woman had no prior acquaintance with her attacker. Following the brutal assault, she was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is currently believed to be in stable condition. The unidentified suspect managed to flee the scene before law enforcement arrived, leaving behind unanswered questions about the circumstances that led to this shocking act of violence.
