Following cases of irregularities and malpractices across board, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the commencement of the Nigeria Examinations Committee meeting to review the 2024 WASSCE results.
Recall that WAEC withheld the results of 215,267 candidates from the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.
The body made this announcement in a statement shared on X on Monday, while urging stakeholders to remain informed.
The statement read: “The 78th Meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) begins today to consider and decide on the malpractice/irregularity cases arising from the conduct of WASSCE for school candidates, 2024.
“The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform candidates who sat WASSCE for school candidates, 2024 that the result has officially been released today, Monday, August 12, 2024.”
The meeting outcome is expected to sharpen the broader educational landscape in Nigeria.
WAEC has also urged affected candidates and the public to stay tuned for updates on the outcomes.
