The seven major oil marketers in Nigeria have officially registered with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery to facilitate the distribution of refined petroleum products from the massive $20 billion plant.
Members of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) confirmed on Sunday that, following registration, they are poised to commence the distribution of fuel produced by the refinery once commercial terms are finalized.
Meanwhile, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) disclosed plans to engage in discussions with the Dangote refinery management this week to iron out terms related to product loading. Similarly, the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) revealed ongoing engagements with the refinery for the supply of products.
Notably, major marketers affiliated with MOMAN, including 11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc, and NNPC Retail, have already registered with the Dangote refinery, signaling their readiness to purchase and distribute the products.
On Friday, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery made a significant announcement regarding the commencement of production of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) and JetA1 (aviation fuel). Aliko Dangote, the President of the Dangote Group, expressed gratitude to various entities, including President Bola Tinubu, for their support in realizing the project.
Addressing queries about the involvement of major oil marketers, MOMAN's Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Clement Isong, confirmed that MOMAN members have met with Aliko Dangote. Isong affirmed that all MOMAN members have successfully registered with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and are prepared to market its products, ensuring availability at their stations once the products are ready for sale.
