According to reports, Liverpool has completed the final step in the acquisition of Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister by activating the transfer clause in his contract with Brighton.
At the conclusion of their contracts, James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Arthur Melo all left the Merseyside club. To overhaul the department, the Reds are anticipated to add at least three midfielders. And it should come as no surprise that Jurgen Klopp tried to sign Mac Allister, one of the top midfielders in the just finished Premier League.
The story further states that the 24-year-old world cup winner has previously passed his medicals.
The weekly salary for Mac Allister will rise from £50,000 to £150,000. Through 2028, a five-year deal has been struck.
Transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Reds signed the Argentine for just £35 million, which several sports newspapers have referred to as a "steal."
"Liverpool have just signed Alexis Mac Allister for… £35m," Romano tweeted.
"The Reds have activated the signing-option clause for the midfielder. The signing of the last papers is currently taking place."
