In an ongoing effort to alleviate the hardship faced by residents of Lagos, the Lagos State Government has launched a second palliative scheme, which also includes provisions for journalists in the state.
At the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, a representative of the Commissioner for Agriculture and Permanent Secretary, Dikirat Oshodi, along with a Deputy Director from the Ministry of Agriculture, supervised the distribution of food packs to Lagos NUJ.
The Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is overseeing the project through the Ministry of Agriculture.
This initiative aims to assist five hundred households in Lagos by collecting their details and providing essential items.
Miss Ruth Olusanya and Mr Audu Fatai, on behalf of the Commissioner for Agriculture and Permanent Secretary, urged institutions and organizations to ensure effective distribution of the items among their members.
Co-Chairman of Lagos State Governor’s Monitoring Committee, Reverend (Dr) Stephen Oyinlola, commended the smooth and efficient distribution process, emphasizing the government's commitment to easing the suffering of Lagosians during these challenging economic times.
Ajayi expressed special appreciation for the professionalism and innovative efforts of the Lagos Ministry of Agriculture in positioning the state as a model for others to emulate.
The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Tunde Olalere, Secretary of the NUJ Lagos State Council.
