The Lagos State Government has announced that it has dedicated N20m towards the upcoming Lagos State Tourism Naijabrand Chick Trade Fair in order to reserve booths for traders.
An official statement said the government's sponsorship, facilitated by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, aimed to assist the less-privileged vendors who were unable to afford exhibition spaces due to high costs.
The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Arts, Culture and Tourism, Idris Aregbe, emphasized that the trade fair initiative is focused on empowering businesses of all sizes to participate and thrive, showcasing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's dedication to investing in small and medium-scale enterprises.
Additionally, it was disclosed that the state tourism ministry had allocated an extra N5m through the "Sanwo Ti Sanwo E" initiative, which is designed to provide support to residents of Lagos State.
Under the Sanwo Ti Sanwo E programme, Aregbe announced that the state government had contributed more than N100m to support residents and ensure they have the necessary resources and opportunities to succeed in the state.
He also said that the funds would be allocated through community development associations, especially in Ikeja, to promote local involvement.
He highlighted that the NBC trade fair aimed to generate N5bn in sales, emphasizing the importance of Lagos residents to participate in the event.
