The Lagos State Government is partnering has with Caverton Marine to boost local boats manufacturing and thus, saves capital flight by 70 per cent.
The General Manager of LASWA, Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, disclosed this, on Wednesday, during a facility tour of the Caverton Marine Boatyard by both the management of Caverton and the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation.
Damilola emphasised the state government’s commitment to sustainable development of water transportation.
He lamented the high cost of boat importation.
The LASWA boss stressed the importance of local boat production, especially given the rising costs of imports and exports.
