The Lagos State Government lauded Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, for his assistance in transforming the clinic in Surulere into an ultramodern, multi-floor, 60-bed general hospital.
The hospital is located on Iyun Road in Surulere, Lagos, and is equipped with excellent specialty care facilities.
Prof. Akin Abayomi, Commissioner for Health, expressed pleasure with the architectural design as well as the fit-for-purpose model established by the project manager on Sunday after an inspection tour of the hospital, which is set to open soon.
He was optimistic that the facility would benefit the health sector and the well-being of Lagos citizens.
Adding 60 beds to the public health center was crucial, he said, given Lagos' chronic scarcity of bed space.
The commissioner also stated that the hospital's cutting-edge characteristics, such as radiology, a large laboratory, pediatrics, physiotherapy, surgery, and X-ray capabilities, will significantly improve the residents' well-being.
He also praised the facility's construction quality and stated that it would be included to the Lagos list of general hospitals.
“We are anticipating a positive reception from both the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, regarding this significant addition to public health facilities,” he added.
He gave an assurance that the facility would be optimally utilized for the benefit of all residents of Lagos.
