Following the Federal Government's elimination of the fuel subsidy, the Kwara State Government has adopted a temporary palliative measure to provide some comfort to workers.
This was disclosed on Monday in a statement released in Ilorin by the state's head of service, Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole, through her spokesperson, Murtala Ayotebi.
According to Oluwole, "the State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has directed that the workdays be reduced from five days to three days per week for every worker."
She issued a directive to all state Ministry, Department, and Agency (MDA) heads to create a structure that details the alternate workdays for each employee that falls under them right away.
The Kwara State Head of Service stressed that her office's ongoing oversight of MDAs will be stepped up to guarantee rigorous compliance as she cautioned the staff not to abuse the governor's goodwill.
