The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has arrested an 81-year-old man, Adeleke Oke, and two others for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Offa.
The other two persons arrested in the sexual act were Sikiru Lawal (37) and Moshood Ayinde (37).
A statement on Friday by the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in the state, Ayoola Michael, said the suspects were arrested on Sunday following a report lodged by the victim’s father at the Offa Division of the agency.
According to the NSCDC PRO, “A preliminary investigation revealed that the three suspects had unlawful canal knowledge of the minor on different occasions and threatened her not to open up to anyone about the illicit acts.
“Furthermore, a detailed medical examination confirmed that the victim’s hymen was ruptured and provided clear evidence of repeated sexual penetrations.
“The suspects confessed to the crime and will be charged to court for onward prosecution."
The state commandant of the NSCDC, Dr. Umar Mohammed, who condemned the act, urged residents to partner the corps in its efforts to combat defilement, rape, and other sexual offences.
