Ododo was the anointed candidate of Governor Bello, who is ending his two terms of eight years.
He defeated his closest rival, SDP's Murtala Ajaka, by a wide margin.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC officially declared Ododo the winner of the governorship election held on Saturday, November 11, in Kogi State.
Following the announcement of the remaining results in Lokoja on Sunday night, November 12, INEC disclosed that Ododo secured a total of 446,237 votes, surpassing his closest rival, SDP's Murtala Ajaka, who garnered 259,052 votes. PDP's Dino Melaye came in third with 46,362 votes.
Ododo's victory is seen as a sign of continuity for the ruling APC in Kogi State.
However, he faces the challenge of addressing the state's many problems, including insecurity, poverty, and unemployment.
The opposition parties are yet to officially announce their stand in the election.
