A woman named Favour Kanu has been penalized by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja for live-streaming court sessions concerning her brother-in-law, Nnamdi Kanu, on Facebook.
Favour is married to Prince Fineboy, Nnamdi Kanu's younger brother, who leads the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and is currently on trial for alleged terrorism charges.
Justice Omotosho On Tuesday, prohibited Favour from attending three upcoming court sessions after she acknowledged and apologized for her actions. Nnamdi Kanu's lawyer, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, also expressed regret on her behalf.
The trial judge conveyed specific irritation regarding Favour's previous similar conduct during the last court session.
Consequently, the court confiscated her phone for recording the proceedings.
Nnamdi Kanu is facing a seven-count terrorism charge, to which he has pleaded not guilty during his re-arraignment in front of Justice Omotosho.
