KANO, Nigeria - The Kano State Government has announced that Friday marks the start of the second-term break for all primary and secondary schools, both public and private, to enable schoolchildren to observe the fasting month of Ramadan at home.
Parents and guardians of boarding students are required to pick up their children by the designated date, February 28, 2025, to avoid any issues.
This information was shared in a statement released yesterday by Balarabe Kiru, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the State Ministry of Education.
As per the statement, boarding school students are anticipated to return to school on Sunday, April 6, 2025, while day students are scheduled to resume classes on Monday, April 7, 2025.

He urged parents and guardians to ensure their children comply, warning that those who do not return promptly will face disciplinary actions.
The commissioner also expressed appreciation for the continued support and cooperation from parents and stakeholders, wishing students a peaceful and enjoyable Ramadan holiday.
