On Thursday, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje made donations to the Singer and Kurmi markets fire victims totaling N200 million and N50 million, respectively.
The markets were destroyed by fire, which destroyed numerous businesses and cost their owners stuff worth millions of naira as well as other intangible valuables.
Malam Muhammad Garba, the commissioner for information and internal affairs, revealed the information in a press release and stated that the fund's release was intended to offer urgent assistance to the affected traders who lost items in the fire.
According to him, the governor of Kano had officially handed checks totaling N250 million to the leadership of the traders' associations in the local markets.
Malam Garba added that after analyzing the committee's recommendations, which are due in five days, the state government would consider other ways to assist the dealers.
Ganduje expressed sympathy to the victims of the fire and urged people and groups to help the traders in whatever manner they could.
He prayed to Allah, in the boundless mercy of His, to stop the fire calamity from happening again.
