The Presidency has announced that President Bola Tinubu and his aides will return to Nigeria from Europe today May 8th.
President Tinubu had been in Europe for over two weeks, starting with a meeting with the Dutch Prime Minister and then attending a special World Economic Forum in Saudi Arabia before traveling to Europe.
The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on his social media handle, stating that President Tinubu and his aides will be back in Nigeria today.
On April 22, Tinubu departed from Abuja, the capital of the country, for an official visit to the Kingdom of The Netherlands.
According to Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, the president was invited to The Netherlands by Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Following his engagements in The Netherlands, Tinubu then traveled to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia to participate in a special World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting from April 28 to 29.
Although the president was scheduled to return to the country after the forum in Saudi Arabia, he did not come back, leading to speculation about his location.
Some reports suggested that the president went to London from Saudi Arabia for a personal visit before continuing on to France, a European country.
