ABUJA, Nigeria - President Bola Tinubu has officially inaugurated the board and management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, seven weeks after they were appointed on April 2, 2025.
The Non-Executive Chairman of the board, Ahmadu Kida, and the Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Ojulari, took their oaths during a brief ceremony at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Thursday afternoon.
Following the ceremony, the President attended the All Progressives Congress National Summit at the State House Banquet Hall.
The 11-member board includes Adedapo Segun and Bello Rabiu from the North West, Yusuf Usman from the North East, and Babs Omotowa, a former Managing Director of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, representing the North Central.
Other board members include Austin Avuru, serving as Non-Executive Director for the South-South; David Ige for the South-West; and Henry Obih for the South-East.
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Lydia Jafiya, will be on the board as the ministry's representative, while Aminu Ahmed represents the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
Among the top government officials present during the swearing-in were Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy; Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation; and Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil).
