Nigerian musician, songwriter, and record label entrepreneur Joseph Akinwale, also known as Joeboy, has officially announced Kvng Vidarr as the first artist to join his record label, Young Legend.
The musician turned to Instagram earlier to express his delight over the latest addition to his record label. Joeboy writes: “Super excited to announce our first talent under Young Legend! Welcome to the family, @kvngvidarr.” “His EP drops this Friday – show him some love!”
Vidarr, full name Momoh Oshiotseameh Luke, was born in Edo State. He grew up in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Joeboy launched his record label, 'Young Legend', in February after leaving emPawa Africa, which is controlled by Mr Eazi. He accompanied the announcement with a documentary about himself, which he hailed as the "dawn of a new era".
He also signed a record agreement with Warner Music, a US-based corporation that handles global music distribution for his label.
Joeboy has received numerous honors and recognition for his work. In 2019, he received the 'Best Artiste in African Pop' award from the All Africa Music Awards.
The singer also won the 'Best Pop' category at the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival in 2020. In November 2023, he published a 5-track extended play (EP) called 'Body, Soul & Spirit'.
Joeboy previously stated that he knew he would be successful in the music industry after meeting Wizkid, an award-winning music sensation. In March, he said that he will release an album this year.
