Italian Club Consider Late Move For Greenwood

POSTED ON September 1, 2023 •   Football      BY Lawrence Omoge •   VIEWS 117
The Italian club are reportedly interested in signing the young English forward on loan, but they need the green light from their manager Maurizio Sarri. With the January transfer window rapidly approaching, Lazio has set its sights on an unexpected player to improve its attack: Mason Greenwood of Manchester United. The controversial 20-year-old striker is one of England's most gifted and young players, and he seems open to the notion of joining the Serie A team on loan, provided the move is accepted by Lazio's manager, Maurizio Sarri. https://twitter.com/DeadlineDayLive/status/1697491667354353794?s=20 Mason Greenwood made his first-team debut for the Red Devils in 2019 and has since scored 50 goals in 129 appearances for the club.
However, he has been out of action since January 2022, when he was suspended by Manchester United over allegations on suspicion of rape, assault, and making death threats.

Lazio's Interest in Greenwood

Other European clubs, such as Olympiacos and Besiktas, are still interested, but the Italian club is determined to close a deal. It is still unclear whether or not a deal can be reached between Lazio and Manchester United before the transfer window ends. The club thinks Greenwood's speed, adaptability, and potential make him a good fit for their team. Sarri has a reputation for being a tough and meticulous manager, but ultimately the choice rests with him. He has not yet voiced his opinion on Greenwood, and the former Chelsea and Juventus coach may have other preferences or worries.
