Israeli tanks have moved further into the western part of Rafah, amidst intense bombardment from air, ground, and sea, causing many families to flee their homes and tents in the darkness, according to residents report.
The Israeli forces advanced towards the Al-Mawasi area of Rafah near the beach, which is designated as a humanitarian zone.
The Israeli military however, dismissed the claim of launching any strikes inside the humanitarian zone.
The assault aimed to eliminate Hamas' remaining combat units in Rafah. Most of the population has moved north towards Khan Younis and Deir Al-Balah.
The military continued targeted operations and located weapons, as well as engaged in close-range combat with Palestinian gunmen.
Israel has ruled out peace until Hamas is eradicated, while Hamas has welcomed a new US ceasefire proposal with some amendments.
Israel described Hamas's response as a total rejection, but efforts to secure agreement are ongoing.
