Internet Fraudster Tortures Apprentices For Not Meeting Target

A suspected internet fraudster identified as Precious Mayor, along with three alleged accomplices named Prince Afam, Israel Simon, and Emmanuela Mayor, were apprehended for their involvement in an alleged hostage-taking incident in Igbogbo, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. The victims, who had traveled from Imo State to receive instruction in cyber fraud from Precious Mayor, found themselves in a perilous situation when they failed to meet their targets within the initial days of their apprenticeship. Report has it that Mayor, in response to their shortcomings, confined them to a room and subjected them to physical harm. The Lagos State Police Command acted swiftly and arrested the suspects on Tuesday, August 26. Among those arrested was Emmanuela Mayor, who is identified as the wife of Israel Simon. Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, conveyed that the victims had endured both physical torture and deprivation of their freedom during their ordeal. Hundeyin added that the arrested suspects had been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department. The arrests have shed light on the alarming extent to which some individuals exploit and manipulate others, particularly in the realm of cybercrime. As the investigation continues, the justice system will determine the appropriate course of action for those involved in this disturbing case of alleged hostage-taking and abuse.
