Inter Milan Sign Pavard For €30 Million

POSTED ON August 29, 2023 •   Football      BY Lawrence Omoge •   VIEWS 12

Bayern Munich has agreed to a €30m deal plus €2m add-ons with Inter Milan for Benjamin Pavard, and the player is expected to travel to Milan for medical tests and contract signing on Wednesday, 30th August 2023.

The French defender has expressed interest in joining Inter Milan, and the Italian club sees him as the ideal candidate to take over for Milan Skriniar on the back line. Inter Milan has come out victorious to sign the Frenchman above other interested clubs, especially Premier Lague club, Manchester United. When Pavard's contract with Bayern Munich expires in June of 2024, the German champions will be looking to cash in. The club's executives at Inter Milan are convinced that they can close the deal. Beppe Marotta, president of the Nerazzurri, did not try to disguise the fact. Even head coach Simone Inzaghi has come clean about his desire to have the Frenchman join the team before the summer transfer window closes. Since Inter usually fields a 3-5-2 formation, the 27-year-old defender will have an opportunity to play in the middle of the defense. The signing is a huge win for Inter Milan. This year, the Nerazzurri will make a serious run at the Serie A championship, and Pavard will play a pivotal role in that effort. The 27-year-old defender has the ability to switch to center back if necessary. He has excellent defensive and offensive skills. Bayern must replace Pavard with a new defender because Josip Stanisic is currently on loan to Bayer Leverkusen. The capable defender who can step in for Pavard is still to be determined.
