The Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, got into a heated argument with the police officers who stormed his establishment to take him into custody on Tuesday.
The Zazu Zeh singer was seen defying the police’s authority as they tried to remove him from the scene, which was documented on his verified Instagram profile.
The officers were questioned by Portable about his offense and their identification papers were also requested. Additionally, he rejected the officers’ efforts to stop him by claiming his celebrity and status as a superstar.
One of the police officers claimed that they were called to make the singer’s arrest due to a petition against him. He was informed by the officers that he is not above the law and cannot direct how they should conduct themselves.
The singer responded, “You don’t have any right to walk into my office and tell me that I am under arrest. I am a celebrity and I work for APC.”
“I am a liability to the federal government. I also do government jobs. My employer is APC. Akoi Tinubu. Nah we get Nigeria now. Nah we dey control Nigeria,” the musician added.
