After his contract with Saudi Arabia Professional Football League team Al Hilal expired, Nigerian forward Odion Ighalo cut connections with the team.
In January 2022, Ighalo transferred from Al Shabab, another Saudi team, to Al Hilal.
In his first year with the team, the 33-year-old won the Saudi League championship. With 24 goals, the striker concluded the year as the league's leading scorer.
Ighalo scored 19 goals during the just-completed season, despite Al Hilal's inability to successfully defend their championship.
In his final campaign with the Blue Waves, he won the Kings Cup.
Al Hilal have now thanked the player for a productive tenure with them.
"@Igalojude, Thanks. Wishing you success and goodluck. #AlHilal," a tweet on the team's official Twitter account reads.
