Nigerian filmmaker and movie actress, Omoni Oboli, has stated that she would have become a successful physician if she had not chosen a professional career in acting.
The actress revealed this during a Question and Answer session with Netflix, where she also revealed interesting facts about herself.
Oboli stated that she grew up in the Delta Steel Company area of Delta State.
She also spoke of her culinary skills and boasted about being able to cook a wide variety of Nigerian dishes, especially soups like banga and egusi.
Omoni Oboli said: “I grew up in Delta Steel Company in Delta State. If I were not an actor, I would be a surgeon.
“I can make so many Nigerian dishes, especially the soups. I can make banga soup, egusi, you name it I’m your girl.”
The seasoned actress is also a scriptwriter, film director, producer, and digital filmmaker who studied at the New York Film Academy.
Omoni left the movie industry to complete her university education. She married immediately after school and did not return to the industry until a decade later, an act she said almost made her quit the movie industry.
She returned to the screen in 2009 and realized the industry had no space for her anymore. Then she decided to start the production of her movies.
The mother of three also shared her favorite thing about being an actress, which is the ability to play multiple roles in one lifetime.
“My favorite thing about being an actor is that I get to be so many people in just one life. The last thing I watched on Netflix was a limited series called The Anatomy of Scandal.”
