Nollywood veteran actress, Ayo Mogaji, shared how she became a mother at the age of 40 despite having only one fallopian tube.
She revealed this during a podcast hosted by fellow actress Abiola Adebayo.
Mogaji had her baby six weeks after her 40th birthday, despite the challenges posed by having only one fallopian tube.
She explained that her first pregnancy was ectopic, leading to the rupture of her fallopian tube, which had to be removed to save her life
An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, often in a fallopian tube, causing what is known as a tubal pregnancy.
Mogaji's colleagues were deeply concerned for her well-being when the doctor expressed doubts about her survival.
The operation to remove the ectopic pregnancy took seven to nine hours, and it was a challenging time for her.
She also shared the story of a lawyer who wanted to marry her because he had been unable to have children in his previous marriage.
Despite the challenges, she eventually got pregnant but tragically, the pregnancy turned out to be ectopic.
The ordeal took her to multiple hospitals before she was finally admitted for treatment.
